• Bath in the natural pools of the Paular Valley

El Valle del Paular is located in the beautiful municipality of Rascafría. In this valley we find three natural pools, known as Las Presillas, located in the channel of the river Lozoya. These pools offer a pleasant swimming area and are surrounded by extensive prairies overlooking the magnificent Peñalara peak.

An ideal place to spend a good picnic with children in summer, disconnect from the intense heat of Madrid with a good swim and enjoy nice walks with a postcard background.

• Go to the museum of Ratoncito Pérez or the museum of Natural Sciences

When our teeth were falling, we received a treatment from the Tooth Fairy. In Spain, they have their own version, the Ratoncito Pérez, and they have dedicated a museum to it! It is in the heart of Madrid and is a fun way for children to get immersed in the Spanish culture.

• Ride on the boats of El Retiro

The pond of the iconic El Retiro park is one of the attractions that you should visit if you are traveling with children to Madrid. You’re going to have a lot of fun with them when rowing on the pond boats. You can rent them for hours and enjoy a pleasant paddle ride where the children themselves lead the boat while admiring the monumental views of the lake.

• Attend one of the activities of the Matadero de Madrid

El Matadero de Madrid is a space that offers very diverse activities, some of which are ideal for families. Some of the activities in this space include interactive plays, games, reading workshops or presentations given by children or adolescents, among others. These areas are distributed in the Salón de Pinos and Arganzuela Park, where you can find long slides, a fun jungle of logs, a path of ropes, a beach, various fountains or a super zip line.

• Enjoy a show in Teatro Circo Price

This circus takes its name from the one that existed in the Paseo de Recoletos for almost a century. At the beginning of 2000, the city council located it in an old industrial building of a neo-Mudejar style factory, and since 2007 offers the best plays and circus shows.

In addition to multiple shows, such as magic, circus or concerts, also offers sizes, courses and camps for children.

• Visit el Planetario

This is an educational space to have fun and enjoy with children. In addition to the optical planetarium and the observatory tower, children will be able to watch multimedia films made with a hundred projectors that fill the dome of the main room, creating special panoramic effects that simulate the solar system. • Assisting to the Puppet Theater in El Retiro

Once again in the park of El Retiro, and near Independence Square, there is the Puppet Theater, which is already an institution of children’s entertainment in Madrid.
